Startup Deep Dive

Startup Deep Dive is an initiative designed to give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in research commercialisation and connect with companies and projects emerging from health and life science research.

The next Deep Dive will be organized in the spring 2026.

Eligibility

So far, the initiative has been limited to degree students from the Faculty of Medicine. We welcome applications from all students enrolled in Faculty programmes, regardless of their background or prior experience in innovation.

What Do the Students Get?

24/7 access to Terkko Health Hub, including free use of our co-working space, meeting rooms, community kitchen with complimentary coffee and tea, and printing facilities.
Invitation to our community events, including Community Get-Togethers, Investor Meetups, Terkko Workshops and Delegation Visits.
Access to networking opportunities with our startup members, Research to Business projects, and the wider life science innovation ecosystem in Finland and internationally.
ECTS for studies: Approximately 27 hours spent in this initiative correspond to 1 ECTS credit. Students can choose how much time they wish to invest, and a certificate will be issued to confirm their participation.

What Will We Ask From Them?

Be active and engaged members of the community. Deep Divers are encouraged to make the most of the opportunity in a way that suits them, with support from us whenever needed.
Co-organise an Innovation Breakfast together with Terkko Health Hub, Helsinki Think Company, and other innovation actors based at Terkko. Innovation Breakfasts are informal, student-led gatherings where ideas are shared in a relaxed setting. Deep Divers are given broad flexibility to shape the topics, speakers, and programme. Terkko will provide the necessary catering for these events.e active and be our guests! They choose how they want to utilise the opportunity and we’ll help them out when needed.
