Aalto University is partnering up with Terkko Health Hub and Helsinki Think Company’s Terkko Health X – the accelerator for ideas reshaping healthcare. Through this collaboration Terkko Health Accelerator gets to branch out from the Meilahti Campus and leverage the technological resources and expertise of Aalto’s Otaniemi Campus. This is a grand opportunity for Terkko Health Accelerator participants to benefit from the health and biotechnology substance knowledge as well as the networks from Aalto University.

For Aalto, the collaboration is a part of an even bigger picture. “With this collaboration, we will strengthen the already tight bond between Aalto University and the key actors in the Academic Medical Center Helsinki”, says Markus Mäkelä, Executive in Residence of Aalto Health Platform. He leads the organization that builds interaction for Aalto University with companies, hospitals, and the society at large.

“We’re very excited about this collaboration with Aalto University. They will bring a lot of value as well as be a significant asset to our participants”, praises Iiro Uotila, the Program Manager of Terkko Health Accelerator.

Kiira Grönroos, the Project Manager of Terkko Health Hub highlights the importance of inclusiveness and collaborations in the industry: “We are proud to join forces with ambitious organizations that support the growth of innovations within the health and life science field. In order to truly reshape our healthcare and make a big difference, we can’t afford to play small. We need to aim to create big societal impact rather than small organisatory wins.”

Terkko Health X is an accelerator program for ideas reshaping healthcare. The 2-month early-stage accelerator is organised by Terkko Health Hub and Helsinki Think Company, and enabled by Sitra, Aalto University, HUS and University of Helsinki’s Faculty of Medicine and HiLIFE.
